James D. McKinney MD
Dr. Jim McKinney graduated from Auburn University in 1977. He then received his medical degree from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, in 1981. At Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center on Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Dr. McKinney completed his internship in general surgery in 1981 and his residency in orthopedics in 1986. Dr. McKinney was in active duty with the United States Air Force from 1981 until 1992. In 1992, he began practicing orthopedic surgery in Cookeville, Tennessee and is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of orthopedic Surgery. Dr. McKinney practices general orthopedic surgery with a special interest in adult reconstruction of the knees and hips. He also does routine hand surgery, foot surgery and knee arthroscopy. Dr. McKinney is married with two children. He is active in many clubs and organizations in Cookeville. He is an active member of the UCMS-TMA and has serve in numerous leadership positions.
